Poppy Pippin is a London based product designer and graduate from Kingston School of Art in 2018. Growing up in a polluted part of the inner city inspired her to design urban solutions for a healthier environment. 

 

Since 2018, Poppy has dedicated her practice to developing Moss Tiles, earning widespread recognition including the Kevin Cloud Green Heroes Award in 20219. Her work has been exhibited at Surface Design Show, Clerkenwell Design Week and Grand Designs Live, and featured in leading publications; House & Gardens, Architecture Today and Azure Magazine. 

 

Transitioning her innovation into a business, Poppy received the Young Innovators UK Award in 2023 alongside expert mentoring through Innovate UK. 

 

Manufactured in partnership with Ketley Brick since 2023, Poppy’s tile designs begin in her studio, where she uses a slab roller to transfer textures from found objects and 3D-printed designs onto clay. 

 

Today she is bringing her tile designs to market and undertaking bespoke commissions with architects, landscape designers and restaurants. She also partners with the University of Plymouth’s School of Biological and Marine Sciences, a leading environmental research department, to scientifically test and refine different moss cultivation methods.
